- Lead migration of all customers to new IP range for ARIN migration.
- Designed and tracked security configurations for servers and network equipmnet.
- Managed DNS servers and configurations for customers. Automated the update process to allow junior engineers to handle most customer update requests.
-
Lessons learned
- It was at this job that I really learned to employ the "3 AM" rule (a KISS rule): Keep solutions simple enough to debug them at 3 AM. All too many solutions that involve complicated solutions are a challenge to fix when they are not working.
- The team I worked with in this job has been the most cohesive and most complimentary team I've had the pleasure to work with. Many of us had been friends for a long time, but it was only while working here that our individual talents were shown to both mesh well together and enhance the others abilities.
