Why write this site?
You were given the URL for this site as an attempt to explain "why". And we're using this page for anyone who we need to explain this to, so you're not the first one.
As for answering why, there are many reasons that when taken individually we could probably work past. Agree to disagree, if it were. But if you've been pointed to this page, it's because when comments, responses, actions (or inaction) taken together have added up to someone we do not feel like we have enough in common with anymore.
The collective attitude and support of actions and comments Trump or the people he has placed within his cabinet, the judicary, and other appointable positions do not align with our personal ethics.
Our grievances against MAGA
Lack of law enforcement
The "I'm voting for the felon" shirt is completely undermining all pillars of what makes our nation strong. And all he and his administration stand for bothers me deeply. And what exactly was the "January 6" then?
A father and husband
"Grab'em by the pussy." Don't excuse it as "locker room talk", it's not who we would put up with in any other situation. And more recently the "Quiet, piggy" to a woman reporter, the repeated "ugly" and "stupid" answers to valid questions are equally misogynistic.
Those with special needs such as hearing, epilepsy, wheelchair bound, etc.
His repeated mocking of people with disabilities. (Reporters, foreign dignitaries, governors, senators, congressmen, military, etc.) And his administration stopped using American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters at most White House press briefings, prompting a lawsuit and a recent court order to reinstate them.
As a parent and friend of LGBTQ
His defense of followers who single out and abuse those in and around the LGBTQ community and sex-based protections (impacting cis-gendered as well as trans-gendered citizens).
Son and friend of veterans
His disrespect of veterans, cutting VA aid, flaunting international law putting our military at risk
Leadership
Dictates by tweets and sound bites but not presenting a coherent plan when questioned. The "plan" changes based on who they just met with, and daily if by the hour depending on "how it is polling". That is NOT leadership - that is the administration demanding the world serve their personal demands, not the needs and greater good of all citizens United States.
Ignoring military leaders warnings
Military respect; wasting time (all the generals gathering in Florida); appointing shockingly unqualified people to cabinet positions
Respect for people in general
The administration is packed with people who are Nazi and White Power/KKK sympathizers and apologists -- The "Some Very Fine People on Both Sides" defense after the Charlottesville, NC white nationalist protest, his cabinet members repeated Nazi aligned planning, Elons multiple 'Sig Heil' salutes, the administration gutting anything "DEI" related -- their plans are documented (https://static.heritage.org/project2025/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf and tracked: https://www.project2025.observer/en) and simple to see: replace civil servant positions with people who will enact the White House priorities, rescind the "Individuals with Disabilities Act", rewrite or roll back protections for minorities, chip away at protections for non-majority population to marginalize and eliminate them. Our kids fall into these small populations and are already demonized in many MAGA speeches and actions.
Pedophilia and adultery
This should be abhorrent to fathers and husbands and all decent human beings. Trump and many trusted advisors and business associates connections to Epstein and the continual coverups (political and big-money backed), his multiple convictions of his extramarital affairs and infidelity, etc.
A limit tolerance
Why are we severing our social interactions with some long-time friends or family members? To improve our emotional health and supporting like-minded friends and family.
