Why write this site?

You were given the URL for this site as an attempt to explain "why". Why has someone started shutting me out of their life? Why have they stopped responding to me? Below are the reasons that my spouse and I have commented upon over the past few years - so if you were directed here by us, then you've aligned yourself or are outright a bragging you are a member of this abcess of humanity that goes by the name MAGA.

And for those of you who haven't the means to setup a persistent page yourself, or lack the words or fortitude to produce one like this youself, we are opening this page for anyone else to use to help communicate their feelings to others who are also deeply MAGA aligned.

To put it bluntly to those who were sent here: Your views and support of MAGA, Donald Trump, and the political appointees aligned with this mindset are reprehensible and we do not feel comfortable continuing anything but minimal conversations and contact with you.

As for answering why, there are many reasons that when taken individually we might work past in our relationship. Agree to disagree, as it were. But if you've been pointed to this page, it's because when your comments, responses, actions (or inaction) taken together have added up to someone we do not feel like we have enough in common with anymore.

The collective attitude and support of actions and comments Trump and the people he has placed within his cabinet, the judicary, and other appointable positions do not align with our personal ethics.

How we see MAGA

We found this quote online which summarizes our view of this situation quite well:

MAGA isn't drawn to Trump because he's smart or competent. They're drawn to him because he tells uneducated, insecure, angry people that their stupidity and ignorance is actually strength.

He gives them a script where nothing is ever their fault. Blame immigrants. Blame "elites." Blame Democrats, blame anyone except the person in the mirror.

He turns racism and sexism into a political identity. He makes being uninformed feel heroic. And MAGA eats it up because it saves them from having to grow, learn, or change.

They don't want leadership. They want validation for being ignorant. And Trump gives it to them every single day..

Our grievances against the MAGA mindset

Lack of law enforcement

The "I'm voting for the felon" shirt is completely undermining all pillars of what makes our nation strong. And all he and his administration stand for bothers me deeply. And what exactly was the "January 6" then? Don't lie that it was a "Friendly visit to a public building" - it was a mob exponentially larger than any commonly expected "building tour", and the fact that extensive damage to the building was comitted by a number of individuals and bragging about that after the fact only further undermines this defense.

And those who were brought to justice for their actions - INCLUDING CONTRIBUTING TO THE DEATH OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICEERS - were soon pardoned after President Trump assumed the title in his second term, he granted blanket clemency to all people convicted or awaiting trial for offenses relating to the January 6 event. More than 600 rioters had been convicted of or pleaded guilty to assault of or obstructing law enforcement officers and 170 of using a deadly weapon.

A father and husband

"Grab'em by the pussy." Don't excuse it as "locker room talk", it's not who we would put up with in any other situation. And more recently the "Quiet, piggy" to a woman reporter, the repeated "ugly" and "stupid" answers to valid questions are equally misogynistic.

Those with special needs such as hearing, epilepsy, wheelchair bound, etc.

His repeated mocking of people with disabilities. (Reporters, foreign dignitaries, governors, senators, congressmen, military, etc.) And his administration stopped using American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters at most White House press briefings, prompting a lawsuit and a recent court order to reinstate them.

As a parent and friend of LGBTQ

His defense of followers who single out and abuse those in and around the LGBTQ community and sex-based protections (impacting cis-gendered as well as trans-gendered citizens).

Son and friend of veterans

His disrespect of veterans, cutting VA aid, flaunting international law putting our military at risk

Leadership

Dictates by tweets and sound bites but not presenting a coherent plan when questioned. The "plan" changes based on who they just met with, and daily if by the hour depending on "how it is polling". That is NOT leadership - that is the administration demanding the world serve their personal demands, not the needs and greater good of all citizens United States.

Ignoring military leaders warnings

Military respect; wasting time (all the generals gathering in Florida); appointing shockingly unqualified people to cabinet positions

Respect for people in general

The administration is packed with people who are Nazi and White Power/KKK sympathizers and apologists -- The "Some Very Fine People on Both Sides" defense after the Charlottesville, NC white nationalist protest, his cabinet members repeated Nazi aligned planning, Elons multiple 'Sig Heil' salutes, the administration gutting anything "DEI" related -- their plans are documented (https://static.heritage.org/project2025/2025_MandateForLeadership_FULL.pdf and tracked: https://www.project2025.observer/en) and simple to see: replace civil servant positions with people who will enact the White House priorities, rescind the "Individuals with Disabilities Act", rewrite or roll back protections for minorities, chip away at protections for non-majority population to marginalize and eliminate them. Our kids fall into these small populations and are already demonized in many MAGA speeches and actions.

Pedophilia and adultery

This should be abhorrent to fathers and husbands and all decent human beings. Trump and many trusted advisors and business associates connections to Epstein and the continual coverups (political and big-money backed), his multiple convictions of his extramarital affairs and infidelity, etc.

A limit to our tolerance

Why are we severing our social interactions with some long-time friends or family members? To improve our emotional health and supporting like-minded friends and family.

Our promise

We will continue to keep this page updated as world events occur. As we write this, we are weeks into a generally unprovoked war in Iran with US service men and women in harms way, many who have paid for this fools ego and perceived slights to him personally with their lives. We sincerely hope that calmer, reasoned adults in the US government and Department of Defense will come through and enact and enforce the 25th amendment to remove him from his bully pulpit. But I also shudder to think what others would take his place. While Trump is a demented, old, narcissistic fool, there are others who are directly in line who are more mentally capable, yougner, and more strategically minded to amplify the "Project 2025" plans already in motion.

This is our pledge to continue to document the MAGA-aligned atrocities and take other civic actions (small or large) when required.
